Mouser Electronics, a global authorized distributor of new electronic components and industrial automation products, will start selling Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computers today. Based on the Raspberry Pi 4, the CPU performance of the Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer (SBC) has been increased by 2-3 times, the GPU performance has been greatly improved, and the display, camera and USB interface have also been improved. The Raspberry Pi 5 SBC provides an affordable and easy-to-use solution for applications such as home automation, industrial automation, edge computing, robotics and surveillance.

The Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer supplied by Mouser is the first full-size Raspberry Pi computer to use a self-designed chip. The RP1 I/O controller chip supports improved interfaces and faster transfer speeds for external USB-attached SCSI (UAS) drives and other high-speed peripherals. The new high-performance SBC is based on the Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A76 64-bit system-on-chip (SoC) running at 2.4GHz. The Raspberry Pi 5 SBC includes a MicroSD card slot that supports high-speed SDR104 mode, and a high-speed single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface that supports high-bandwidth peripherals. In addition to two USB 2.0 ports, this SBC is also equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, which can support 5Gbps operating speed at the same time. It also has a VideoCore VII GPU that supports OpenGL ES3.1, and dual 4Kp60 HDMI display outputs that support HDR. Two quad-channel 1.5 Gbps MIPI transceivers allow users to connect up to two cameras or displays.

Raspberry Pi 5 is available in 4GB and 8GB versions and supports both Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy, dual-band Wi-Fi® and Gigabit Ethernet, allowing users to flexibly choose wired and wireless connections. The Raspberry Pi 5 also expands support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing it to be powered over Ethernet, while also offering a USB Type-C port for backup power.
